We are searching for a CVOR Practice Coordinator or Cardiovascular Registered Nurse who is ready to accelerate their career to the next level. The candidate selected for this role will provide leadership and will be responsible for initiating and supporting work efforts that improve quality, safety, and services in the CVOR. Serves as the primary clinical resource to the CVOR team to provide quality nursing care, supports the overall coordination of the surgical specialty, and actively works with physicians and staff to facilitate the dynamic environment of perioperative services.

Hours:

Day Shift Monday through Friday (some on-call weekends).

8 hour Shifts (5 days a week) 6:30 am

  • 3 pm

10-hour shifts (4 days per week) 6:30 am

  • 5 pm

On-Call Requirement: Cardiac Call: Each team member takes approximately 6- 8 total days of call per month. This includes a Friday to Monday Weekend call shift.

Weekday Call begins at the end of the schedule shift and ends at 0700 the following morning

Weekend call begins Friday at the end of the scheduled shift and ends Monday morning at 0700.

Our Cardiac Program:

Cardiac Surgery

The cardiovascular surgeons at the Center for Heart & Vascular Health at Christiana Hospital are among the most experienced open-heart surgery teams in the mid-Atlantic today. We provide a complete range of sophisticated cardiothoracic surgical services for the treatment of:

  • Atherosclerosis (blocked arteries).

  • Coronary artery disease treatment.

  • Valves requiring repair and replacement.

  • Congestive heart failure.

  • Arrhythmias (irregular or skipped heartbeats).

  • Congenital heart ailments (those present from birth).

Each year, our expert cardiac surgery team performs almost 600 open-heart surgeries at the Center for Heart & Vascular Health, and we are setting ourselves up to increase our total cases in the years to come.

We manage 3 OR suites for our cardiac program daily and support our interventional partners with hybrid cases when needed. With a team of 5 surgeons, private PA support, scrub technologists, and circulating nurses, we care for many patients needing cases from a basic CABG (CORONARY ARTERY BYPASS GRAFT), Valve Replacement and Repair, and TEVAR (Thoracic Endovascular Aortic Repair), to an all-night dissection.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BSN required.

  • Three years of experience in a related nursing field is required.

  • Two to three years of Open Heart Team experience

  • Current RN license in the state of Delaware.

  • Certification in area of expertise
