  • The Cardiovascular Tech is responsible for working as a team member with other cardiac cath personnel, physicians, customers, and coworkers in providing technical expertise necessary to perform those procedures required in the cardiac cath unit. The maintenance of the cardiac cath unit, in all respects lies with each staff member.

    This person will be responsible for providing a safe and meaningful service to the patient and physician. To this end, they must be familiar with all the equipment involved in performing such duties, and able to operate such equipment efficiently and accurately. This position must have knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, hemodynamics, and sterile technique.

    The Cardiovascular tech will be responsible for providing the physicians with reliable data and results at completion of the procedure. All cardiovascular invasive specialists will be expected to act with initiative in completing duties in the cardiac cath unit.

Education / Experience: High school graduate (or equivalent); graduate of a School of Radiologic Technology, ARRT, RCIS or RCES required.

BLS, ACLS required. Cardiac Cath or Special Procedures Radiography experience preferred but not required. Education background in one of the following healthcare specialties required: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist or Registered Radiologic Technologist

License / Certification: ARRT, RCIS, or RCES; BLS,ACLS

VIEW JOBS 6/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2018-09-17T00:00 SCHEDULE: FULL-TIME, EVENING SHIFT PLUS WEEKEND ROTATION JOB SUMMARY: Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in preparing (non-sterile) and distributing medications, restocking automated dispensing devices, crash carts and fire medic kits, processing patient charges and credits, and maintaining the drug inventory. They work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Procures and distributes medication orders per physician request, pharmacist request, or prearranged work assignment according to established policies, procedures, and protocols. Fills physician orders, care packages, medication carts, or stock requisitions accurately. Replenishes medications in crash carts, fire medic boxes, and automated dispensing equipment. Delivers/tubes medications and supplies to patient care areas accurately per established schedule. Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies according to established policies and procedures. Assists in orders, receiving, unpacking and storing drugs and supplies in appropriate locations. Rotates stock to ensure use before expiration date. Identifies and replaces outdated and unusable drugs. Restocks medication dispensing areas. Prepackages bulk medications in unit dose packages. Contributes to the effective operation of the department. Picks up items and medications for return from patient care areas when on delivery rounds. Enters charges and credits for patient medications accurately. Generates reports, pick lists and labels as required. Answers the telephone, identifying self and department, directing the call to appropriate personnel. Answers requests at the window and makes stat deliveries where requested. Maintains logs, records and other required documentation accurately. Files documentation in appropriate locations. Participates in the peer review process and completes a self evaluation due one month before the evaluation date. Maintains competence required for current job title/position. Attends pharmacy staff meetings. Participates in orientation, education and training programs. Reviews literature and other materials as assigned. Completes all competence/skills assessment requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: High school diploma or equivalent. College courses desirable, but not required. 2-3 years of pharmacy technician experience preferred, but not required. Pharmacy Technician Registration through the Alabama State Board of Pharmacy. Technician Certification preferred, but not required. Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. use of a computer keyboard). May require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, unit-dose cassettes and IV solutions. Stooping and kneeling (e.g. to pick up items from the floor, to remove/replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers). Sitting, walking, or standing for a long period of time (4-8 hours) is often necessary. Normal range of hearing and vision to perform work and communicate effectively.
