Under general supervision following established policies, procedures, professional guidelines, delivers care to patient's pre, during and post procedure.

Job Summary

Under direct supervision following established policies, procedures, professional guidelines, assists in the cath lab delivering care to patient's pre, during and post procedure. Assists physician and CVTs in performing procedure to include but not limited to catheterizations, interventions, electrophysiology and implants.

Assists implementing patient care; documents patient assessments and flow of procedure; identifies and reports situations requiring intervention; communicates goals and plan of care; assures patient rights. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the values of Tampa General Hospital. This position requires constant supervision.

Required Skills

High school diploma. Enrolled in a CVIS program or has equivalent hospital experience such as scrub tech, respiratory therapy, radiology technology, echocardiography or other experience to be reviewed for on the job training. Two years progressive clinical experience in a hospital.

Qualifications What You Will Need: * Individuals must possess these knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and to demonstrate that s/he can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. * Competent in basic patient work-up for examination. * Good medical knowledge to assist doctor during patient exams. * Ability to keep process and patient flow on time; competent with basic patient work up. * Current basic computer skills, data input. * Good business office organizational skills. * Good verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to work well independently and with others in a team environment. * Ability to adapt to change. * High School diploma/equivalent. * American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Certification, American Medical Technologist (AMT) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or National Association for Healthcare Professionals (NAHP). This must be obtained within 90 days from the date of employment. * Current, valid CPR certification is required (BLS). Job Summary: The Medical Assistant provides appropriate care to patients within the scope of the Medical Practice Act. This individual assists in patient education.
