Job Summary The Advanced Practice Provider is an advanced practice registered nurse or physician#s assistant with education, training, certification and licensure to provide for complex acute, chronic and critically ill/injured children. This individual will deliver the care for patients who are technologically dependent, highly vulnerable for complications, requiring frequent or complex monitoring and/or ongoing inpatient management with acute, complex, critical and/or chronic illnesses. The components of the role include clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education, and scholarship. In addition to managing patient care, the APP may be required to utilize invasive interventions and procedures to promote physiologic stability. This individual works in collaboration with the collaborating physician, Division Medical Director, staff physicians, the Division Director of Nursing, staff nurses and other team members.# Education DNP, MSN or Post-Graduate Certificate with specialization as an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner OR Graduate of master#s or doctoral level physician assistant program Experience At least 1 year of nursing or medical experience required with experience in the subspecialty area preferred. Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries Must be eligible to practice as a nurse practitioner as determined by the Alabama Board of Nursing or as a physician assistant as determined by the Alabama Board of Medicine Current RN Licensure in the State of Alabama for nurse practitioners Current BLS/PALS certification Valid Acute Care PNP certification from PNCB or certification as PA-C from NCCPA

Education
DNP, MSN or Post-Graduate Certificate with specialization as an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner
OR
Graduate of master's or doctoral level physician assistant program
Experience

Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
