Position Title: Customs Compliance Coordinator

Location: Aurora, IL

Reports to: Sr. Manager Customs Compliance

Job Summary:

The Customer Success Manager is a customer facing role within First Alert's Customer Support Organization. The CSM will own a variety of customer touch points via multiple channels. This role has a passion for delighting customers and solving problems with the customer experience being a priority at all times.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinates with Transportation team on shipments that need to cross and ensure in-bond paperwork is complete and accurate

  • Review import documentation to ensure proper classification and correct value is declared on the customs entries

  • Ensure ISF is successfully executed at origin, work with broker and forwarders on required documentation correction or missing documents

  • Work with the customs broker on any FTZ withdrawal, admittance and any customs paperwork required including review of IT, T&E transactions

  • Partner with internal cross functional teams to ensure customs guidelines are adhered to and followed correctly

  • Audit import entries and log discrepancies on the entry audit report

  • Work with the dept. manager on NAFTA solicitation, ISA, C-TPAT and other customs responsibilities and projects as needed.

  • Assist with export paperwork and ensure AES transmission with the forwarder

  • Review import documentation to ensure proper classification and correct value is declared on the customs entries

  • Provide guidance and assist drafting SOP as needed on all matters associated with import customs compliance

  • Assist with any other duty or task as required by the department

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of customs forms which include: 7501, 3461

  • Good understanding of international logistics and import procedures

  • Strong process and analytical skills, experience with excel

  • Experience working with ACE and extracting reports imports and exports

  • Associate Degree in Business, supply chain or finance preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask

  • A minimum of 3 years working in the Customs Compliance field

  • CPG experience a plus
