We foster an environment that encourages our group of bright, talented, and skilled employees to design and develop new products.
Job Summary and Responsibilities:
Customer Support Engineers oversee the implementation of large custom robotic welding and cutting systems at customer facilities. This includes system installation, weld and cutting process development, robot programming, troubleshooting, customer training, documentation, and off-line robot programming. Customer Support Engineers travel extensively depending on individual Customer Support Engineer location and proximity to customer. Applicants must be able to read and interpret repair instructions and work orders to determine work content.
Equipment Maintenance/Repair: Proficiency with equipment assembly, maintenance, efficiency, repair, cleaning, installation and inspection.
General Electrical Systems: Experience with installation, identification and repair of wiring, transformers and circuit breakers; able to use Multimeter and diagnostic tools, basic understanding of wiring diagram schematics and blueprints; basic knowledge of motors and simple controllers.
Computer Fluency: Able to effectively work in programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook to perform tasks (e.g., data analysis and writing). Ability to work with various diagnostic software tools when trained.
Critical Thinking: Identify problems, come up with solutions and select the best one given the pros and cons. Ideally, anticipate problems and preclude them (e.g., identify flawed materials before use, preventative re-tooling, and maintenance). Consider safety. Ideally, come up with ways to continuously improve the company's operations.
Customer Service: Use effective written and verbal communication to resolve customer issues; consistently project a professional, customer-first attitude; actively look for ways to meet and exceed our customer's expectations.
Operation Monitoring: Watch readings from gauges, dials, system inputs/outputs, or other sensors and use computer diagnostic tools to monitor and make sure equipment is working properly. Able to maintain focus for the entire work period and follow standard operating procedure (e.g., follow a set route to monitor multiple machines, perform the right checks at each). Watch for production flaws; identify problems and resolve them properly given the relevant protocol.
Safety: Ensure the physical safety of oneself and one's co-workers at all times. Follow all safety related instructions from supervisors and co-workers. Follow all safety-related process guidelines.
Active Listening: Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Have a learner's mindset be open to learning new information from various sources (e.g., formal learning, on-the-job training and mentorship).
Troubleshooting: Determine the causes of operating errors and develop ideas on how to solve. Able to identify possible solutions to problems and know who to talk to about different types of problems (e.g., manager, co-worker). Ideally, anticipate and preclude problems; recognize variance in products or processes and, ideally, identify the root causes of problems.
Manufacturing Process: Able to understand the end-to-end process flow and how one part affects another.
Systems Analysis: Determine how the current system works and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes. Understand process flow changes and how current processes can be changed to address new needs or improve operations.
Resolve customer issues in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
Property install robotic automation system at customer facility from provided installation documents and calibration procedures through final commissioning.
Observe robotic welding process and demonstrate ability to improve results by correcting root cause.
Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment, diagnostic software and knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems.
Study blueprints, schematics, manuals or other specifications to determine installation procedures.
Inspect or adjust equipment, machines and components, replacing worn parts, such as gaskets or seals in watertight electrical equipment.
Maintain equipment logs that record performance problems, repairs, calibrations and tests.
Detect and prevent problems by performing scheduled maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning or repairing equipment.
Associates Degree or higher in related fields including electrical, mechanical, maintenance, engineering, automotive, or welding.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Certified Robotic Arc Welding Technician (CRAW-T)
1 year or more experience in robotic industry and/or welding
Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their race, color, religion, national origin, sex, protected veteran status or disability.
