Position Purpose:

Customer Service/Sales associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. These associates learn about products using our tools, and provide information to customers in order to sell an entire project.

Associates in this position will learn how to greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments. Customer Service/Sales associates maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, and ensure it is clean, shop-able, and safe. Each associate has the responsibility of providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers.

These associates work in cooperation with their Department Supervisor and other associates in their department as well as other departments. Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Dcor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing and Tool Rental. The Customer Service/Sales position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

Primary Responsibilities: * Provide expertise and / or general claims support to teams in reviewing, researching, negotiating, processing and adjusting claims * Authorize appropriate payment or refer claims to investigators for further review * Analyze and identify trends and provides reports as necessary * Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards * Respond to claims appeals * Supervise, monitor, track and direct day to day operations to staff * Consistently meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards * Respond to claims appeals * Coordinate, supervise and is accountable for the daily activities of business support, technical or production team or unit * Impact of work is most often at the team level Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree (or higher) or High School Diploma / GED (or higher) with 3 years of supervisory or coaching experience * 5 years of experience analyzing and solving customer problems in an office setting environment * Moderate proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications * Microsoft Excel experience (create and edit spreadsheet) * 1 years of supervisory, coaching, or employee mentoring experience Preferred Qualifications: * Medical claims processing experience * Previous healthcare experience Soft Skills: * Ability to multi - task, this includes ability to understand multiple products and multiple levels of benefits within each product Physical Requirements and Work Environment: * Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods working at a computer * Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, and floor activity Careers at UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual.
