Position Purpose:

Customer Service/Sales associates provide fast, friendly service by actively seeking out customers to assess their needs and provide assistance. These associates learn about products using our tools, and provide information to customers in order to sell an entire project.

Associates in this position will learn how to greet, qualify, recommend and close every customer in their department, and know how to handle basics in adjacent departments. Customer Service/Sales associates maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, and ensure it is clean, shop-able, and safe. Each associate has the responsibility of providing a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies & standards, completing specified safety training, immediately correcting hazards & unsafe conditions or reporting conditions to the Manager on Duty, and working safely as not to endanger themselves, co-workers, vendors, or customers.

These associates work in cooperation with their Department Supervisor and other associates in their department as well as other departments. Specific store departments may include Building Materials, Dcor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing and Tool Rental. The Customer Service/Sales position types may include Department Sales, Lead Generator, Pro Account Sales, Sales Specialist, Special Services, and Customer Order Specialist.

We currently have Part-Time Customer Service and Sales Specialist II opportunity available at the Avon Branch office for an individual who understands the meaning of Providing Legendary Customer Service and are committed to creating Members for Life! Business Hours at this location are Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-2:00pm. The work will average 28 hours per week and is variable from week to week, and we are seeking someone who is available for any hours the office is open. The hourly rate is in the range of $11.39-$12.15 based on experience. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Greet and provide Legendary Service to everyone who enters the office. * Create TripTik routings and marked maps, and provide destination information. * Achieve monthly goals for various product and service transactions, such as AAA Member Rewards Visa Signature® Card applications, membership automatic-renewal enrollments, and customer referrals for insurance product quotes * Identify cross-selling opportunities and recommend complimentary products and services, such as discounted theme park tickets and special attraction tickets * Accept payments and provide accurate change and receipts * Issue passport photos * Balance & reconcile cash drawer Qualified individuals will have: * 1-2 years successful face-to-face customer service experience * Proven ability to work quickly and efficiently and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. * Warm and friendly customer service & communication skills * Good PC and internet skills and familiarity with common office equipment * Exceptional focus on accuracy and strong attention to detail * Basic cashiering with ability to provide accurate change * HS Diploma or GED The selected candidate will be required to successfully complete pre-employment assessments, background and drug screenings.
