WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Provide effective customer service and support through in-depth knowledge of company products, programs, and services. Dispatch ready mix concrete in a timely and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Talk with customers by phone and enter data into computer system.

  • Solicit future orders from customers and enter order into computer system.

  • Negotiate with customers' acceptable delivery times to prevent lost orders.

  • Document customer complaints and forward to Dispatch Manager and/or Sales Representative.

  • Dispatch orders in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Communicate with drivers and direct them to delivery locations.

  • Work directly with surrounding areas to better service customers by utilizing multiple plants and look to share trucks.

  • Ability to multitask and stay focused while dealing with various contractors, salespeople, dispatchers, and other personnel.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with company employees, suppliers, and customers. Promote and maintain the professional image and reputation of the company and ensure timely problem resolution and customer satisfaction.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Dispatch Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Degree or General Education Degree (GED).

  • Three to five years related customer service experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Basic computer skills for entering orders.

  • Communicate in a positive and helpful manner with a variety of customers.

  • Ability to read and understand maps.

  • Required to be able to read, write, and speak English.

  • Speaking Spanish is preferred.

  • Basic math required - addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

  • Basic computer skills required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Customer contact may result in stressful situations.

  • Must be able to go from phone call to phone call quickly and efficiently.

  • Approximately 85% of the day is sitting and entering information into a computer.

  • Overtime may be required as business dictates.

  • This position involves working in an office atmosphere throughout the year.

  • Some after hour meetings may be required.
