Clinica Sierra Vista currently operates comprehensive primary care community health centers in the rural and urban areas of Kern, Fresno, and Inyo Counties, located in California, encompassing several thousand square miles of farm land, desert, and mountain areas. Community health centers provide comprehensive primary and preventative health care, including medical, dental and behavioral health services, in areas where access to health care has historically been inadequate. Additionally, we operate multiple health education, prevention and case management programs providing a comprehensive array of health and human services. We serve primarily the low-income and uninsured population, including migrant farm workers, the homeless, and other special populations.

Position Summary:

The EHR/Electronics Trainer is primarily responsible for facilitating computer/electronics training to staff and supplying materials as needed for other types of interactive training. The computer/electronics training will be to enhance the skills of Clinica Sierra Vista employees in support of the electronic systems used organization wide. Departmental training needs will be identified and adopted as needed. The EHR/Electronics Trainer will work interactively with other members in the Quality Department and obtain Train the Trainer updates from the IT Department. The EHR/Electronics Trainer will work interactively with members in the Care Teams and the Quality Department. This position will function within the Quality Department and be active in the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model of care delivery at Clinica Sierra Vista.

Essential Functions:

  • Follow all established departmental policies, procedures, best practices, standards and methodologies.

  • Maintain excellent working relationships with staff and Care Teams at all levels.

  • Develop concise training materials (electronic and paper) for staff.

  • Perform interactive face to face training sessions using existing and new methods and technology.

  • Provide training needs to all Clinica Sierra Vista staff as deemed necessary.

  • Coordinate and schedule training as requested.

  • Demonstrate ability to quickly and independently get tasks done and manage time and projects.

  • Able to perform on short deadlines with attention to detail and quality.

  • Ability to travel to multiple site locations.

  • Attend Train the Trainer sessions as needed.

Other Responsibilities:

  • May be required to work overtime.

  • May be required to work at satellite offices.

  • May be required to drive personal vehicle.

  • Perform other tasks/duties as instructed/required.

  • Medical Assistant with work related experience and/or a minimum of five years IT experience.

  • CCMA desirable, or obtain certification on the job.

  • Must demonstrate ability to exercise good judgment, prioritize multiple tasks and problem solve under pressure deadlines and resource constraints.

  • Excellent oral and written communications.

  • Confidentiality required. Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality possible when performing the functions of this department. HIPAA polices must be followed.

  • Valid California driver's license, auto insurance, and personal transportation.

Responsible for oversight of personnel including training, evaluation, and documentation of performance. Maintains departmental operating policies and procedures to include departmental programs, quality control, quality assurance, and safety.
