Job Summary
Involves patient, third party, government, physician billing and / or collections activities. Provides for coordinated processes, procedures and systems, customer service delivery models and ensuring compliance with internal policy and external agency regulations. Manages insurance reimbursement from third-party billings and government insurance programs. Keeps abreast of the full array of third-party contracts and billing / collections requirements. Incorporates cash posting, accounts receivable management and financial counseling for securing collections of accounts.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or four years of relevant exp.
Five years of experience in a hospital billing office environment or in revenue cycle functionalities.
Five years working knowledge of the rules and regulations of Medicare, Medi-Cal, managed care and commercial insurance.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
Demonstrated knowledge of revenue cycle management practices and concepts, charge master, billing, coding and/or collection regulations.
Solid interpersonal skills and persuasiveness, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse clinical, business, technical, and financial personnel at all professional and technical levels.
Collaboration skills to work effectively with management across the medical center on new metrics, standardization of reporting / data and project management processes.
Skilled in written and verbal communications, with the ability to effectively motivate others, to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports and analyses.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related area
Strong project management skills with the ability to organize, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and delegate assignments efficiently.
In-depth knowledge of all relevant information technology, including prior working experience with Epic systems. Knowledge of BOTH Epic Hospital (HB) and Professional Billing (PB) application expeience strongly preferred.
Three years (minimum) of supervisory or managerial experience in a healthcare billing or collections office environment.

CPC, RHIA
