Summary This position is located in the District of Columbia Courts Court Reporting Division. The Court Reporting Division is responsible for making verbatim record of the proceedings in the various trial courts in the Superior Court, producing transcripts for filing in the Court of Appeals and the Superior Court, and preparing transcripts ordered by attorneys and litigants.

Responsibilities Brief Description of Major Duties: Evaluates policies, procedures and practices and prepares recommendations for improving the effectiveness of branch functions. Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to assist in the training of staff and the congruence of procedures related to Administrative Branch operations of the division.

Conducts quality assurance of employee's work. Identifies training and development needs of staff, provides training, and makes recommendations to senior management for outside training needs. Performs assessment of employees and completed performance plans in accordance with the guidelines.

Balances, reconciles, verifies, and researches discrepancies for cash transactions received and processed daily from the Administrative Office. Processes customer refunds and payments for contracting firm(s). Processes checks and cash deposits daily to financial banking institutions. Manages all work assignments within the operations of the Administrative/Customer Service counter.

Supervises the filing of all administrative records in the Web Transcript Tracking System (WTTS). Prepares reports from WTTS to ensure that data entries are accurate. Requirements Conditions of Employment To qualify for this position, you must submit the following: 1. Resume 2.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or GED plus a minimum of six (6) years of experience performing administrative and accounting-related tasks such as cash handling, bookkeeping, or similar duties in a court, legal or office environment. Plus, one (1) year of supervisory experience.

Graduation from the Courts’ Management Training Program may substitute for one (1) year of supervisory experience (You must provide documentation of your management training (i.e. copy of certificate) with your application. The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the DC Courts’ values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Respect, and Transparency.
