The City of Johnson City, Tennessee is accepting online applications for a Customer Service Supervisor with Water & Sewer Services. The employee performs difficult technical work supervising and leading in meter reading, utility billing procedures and customer services; does related work as required.
The employee in this class is responsible for planning, organizing and supervising Water & Sewer employees engaged in meter reading, utility billing and customer services. The work is carried out in accordance with policy guidelines established by the Customer Service Manager.
Requirements for Education and Experience: completion of high school or GED, preferably supplemented by business school or related college training in bookkeeping and considerable experience in a responsible office supervisory position. Employee must have thorough knowledge of modern office procedures and practices; thorough knowledge of meter reading, billing and collection procedures; ability to prepare clear and accurate reports; ability to follow complex verbal and written directions; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors and the general public; ability to communicate clearly; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Job duties require extended periods of sitting at a work station or desk and manual dexterity to work efficiently on a computer keyboard for data entry. Employee must possess a valid driver's license issued by the State of Tennessee. Pre-employment physical, drug screening and background check required.
