Minimum Qualifications

  • HighSchool Diploma or GED equivalent is required

  • One (1) or more years of full-time work experience in hospital accounts receivable or hospital business office activities related to account follow up/collections is required

  • One (1) or more years of full-time work experience in hospital accounts receivable or hospital business office activities related to account follow up/collections within multi hospital system

  • BilingualEnglish/Spanish or English/Polish

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and OtherCharacteristics

  • Knowledgeof the following software programs: Windows based software- SiemensApplication, Cerner Application, Emdeon Revenue Cycle Portal, and other systemsof record respectively, and exceptional Microsoft Suite skill set to IncludeMicrosoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio, Monarch Application, orknowledge of hospital specific accounting, billing and customer service systems

  • Knowledgeof specific equipment, specify: computer and wise terminal connectivity,processing/functionality, numeric 10-kep processing of 12,000 kph (200 kpm)and keyboarding skills of 35 wpm

  • Stronginterpersonal skills. and team skills, ability to communicate well withindividuals, and in group settings, ability to communicate with diversepopulation and people from various backgrounds

  • Writtenand verbal communication, ability to prepare reports and make presentations tovarious professional and public

  • Analyticalskills, problem solving skills

  • Mathematicalskills, describe: add, subtract, multiply and divide amounts

When applying for employment with the Cook County Health & Hospital System, preference is given to honorably discharged Veterans who have served in the Armed Forces of the United States for not less than 6 months of continuous service

Discharge papers must list an Honorable Discharge Status. Discharge papers not listing an Honorable Discharge Status are not acceptable

A copy of a valid State ID Card or Driver's License which identifies the holder of the ID as a Veteran, may also be attached to the application at time of filing.

If items are not attached, you will not be eligible for Veteran Preference
