Position Overview The Customer Service Representative (I) is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the customer service function of a community office, coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments. This individual is also responsible for reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor and responding to inquiries or requests for information. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Interviews customers to obtain information and explain available services such as Savings and Checking Accounts, Individual Retirement Accounts, Certificates of Deposit, Loan Applications, etc. 2. Seeks out new opportunities to deepen relationships with current clientele through suggestive sales techniques. 3. Participates in sales activities focusing on prospective clientele, both personal and business. 4. Effectively utilizes the bank's Customer Relationship Management program to track customer sales and service activities as well as cultivate prospective opportunities within the office's market area. Customer Service & Support 1. Opens deposit accounts and takes loan applications. 2. Responds to customer questions, quotes rates and payments, recommends services. 3. Helps with account maintenance such as address changes, change of account signers, etc. 4. Assists customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments, such as mortgage, wealth management, merchant services, trust services, and commercial loans; provides help to customers with specific inquiries or service problems. 5. Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the Branch as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information. Ancillary Duties 1. May serve as a Teller, when required, and within technical abilities. 2. Performs tasks, which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances. Education & Qualifications * A high school diploma or equivalent with an emphasis in a business curriculum. * Notary experience preferred or ability to obtain notary as needed. * A minimum of one (1) year of experience in related positions preferred. Skill(s) Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of branch policies and procedures; supervisory skills sufficient to manage employees; ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach with hands or arms, use hands to manipulate objects, handle or feel, and lift items weighing 50 lbs. or less; visual , auditory and speaking skills; valid driver's license is required.
