Halifax Health is seeking a Customer Service Representative for the PBFS Department.
This individual provides customer service to patients/guarantors by telephone, letter, e-mail or personal contact regarding their inpatient, outpatient, physician and emergency department accounts. Responds, evaluates and initiates action on patient account inquiries and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Associate's degree with major in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or at least four years in a related field, which can be substituted for the college education requirements.
At least four years experience in hospital business office, or allied health services dealing with patient and business affairs.
Must be able to deal effectively with the public and use good judgment in the pursuit of resolving accounts.
Must have good language skills, including the ability to formulate comprehensive system account notes, and prepare customer letters.
Must have good general knowledge of hospital admissions, insurance billing, and collections procedures.
Must have general PC operational knowledge and skills.
