General Summary:

As a Family Dollar Customer Service Representative you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers. Key priorities include greeting customers, assisting them with selection of merchandise, completing transactions, and answering questions regarding the store and merchandise.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides customer engagement in positive and approachable manner.

  • Assists in maintaining a clean, well-stocked store for customers during their shopping experience.

  • Helps in the unloading of merchandise from delivery trucks, organizes merchandise, and transports merchandise from stockroom to sales floor.

  • Independently stocks shelves and recovers merchandise in the store.

  • Accurately handles customer funds and processes transactions using the POS system.

  • Remains constantly aware of customer activity to ensure a safe and secure shopping environment.

  • Performs all other duties as assigned in order to maintain an effective and profitable store operation.

Position Requirements:

Education: Prefer completion of high school or equivalent. Ability to follow directives and interpret retail operational documents as assigned.

Experience: Prefer experience working in retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environments.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to regularly lift up to 40 lbs. (and occasionally, up to 55 lbs.) from floor level to above shoulder height; must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Availability: Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

They exhibits a genuine nurturing, caring attitude to all children. He/she also maintains a cooperative attitude of working together with the teacher, volunteers, parents, and program specialists in planning and implementing activities.<br></p><p><strong>Duties and responsibilities:</strong></p><ul> <li>Work with HS Director, Coordinators, Center Director and staff to insure the adherence of Head Start Performance Standards and Child Care Administration regulations</li> <li>Assist in conducting or arranging for formal developmental and behavioral screenings for each child within 45 days of enrollment</li> <li>Assist in observing and recording children’s progress using the agency’s on-going assessment method</li> <li>Using the assessment results, assist in providing on-going opportunities for each child to develop skills related to the Head Start Child Outcomes in preparation for School Readiness and lifelong learning</li> <li>Apply positive classroom management and discipline techniques</li> <li>Incorporate a good health/ mental health and nutrition program into the daily/ weekly plans</li> <li>Assist children who are not potty trained as needed</li> <li>Assist in compiling information on children’s behavior for discussion with Mental Health/ Disabilities Coordinator and parents.</li> <li>Assist in implementing IEP objectives and evaluating progress</li> <li>Attend home visits and Staff/Parent Conferences with Teacher as required</li> <li>Work in partnership with parents, individually and collectively, to insure children’s success in all aspects of the program through: parent education &amp; training, parent involvement &amp; planning, parent &amp; staff collaboration</li> <li>Provide on-site assistance to staff, parents and volunteers increasing their knowledge and skills of child development concepts to effectively work with children</li> <li>Actively participate in the process of transitioning children and families to and from other programs, such as Early Head Start, Public School, Child Care Settings</li> <li>Attend and participate in meetings and training as required</li> <li>Must assume responsibility for lead teacher when absent</li> <li>Perform all other duties as designated by the Teacher, Center Director, Education Coordinator and/or the Head Start Director</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>Preferred: A.A. degree in Early Childhood Education or related field</li> <li>Minimum: Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and willingness/ability to work towards AA degree in ECE or related field</li> <li>Bilingual staff person is a requirement at centers where it is necessary (1304.52(g)(2))</li> <li>One (1) year experience working in a licensed Child Care facility</li> <li>Must have current or ability to obtain First Aid and CPR certification</li> <li>Ability to fully participate in a program for active youngsters.
