Summary:
The person in this position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Working with customers and managing their orders and accounts. Communicating and working with cross-functional teams such as: sales, logistics, planning/forecasting and shipping, to ensure correct account set up, product availability, and shipping availability. This position will be tasked with continual learning of the internal systems & enhancements, policy and procedures as well as the Consumer and Industrial industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)

  • EDI account management and order entry

  • Perform all duties relating to the processing of customer orders through phone, fax, e-mail and EDI.

  • Handle inbound calls in a timely and professional manner.

  • Proactively contacts customers regarding order changes and/or late shipments.

  • Research and resolves escalated customer issues utilizing appropriate resources.

  • Collectively works with Customer Service team to ensure calls are answered on time and orders are entered on time.

  • Acts as a point of contact for afterhours issues on a rotating basis.

  • Primary liaison between the customer and supply chain.

  • Proactively reaches out to teammates to help and delegates work when needed.

  • Continuously works to find new and innovative ways to make Compass Minerals Customer Service the industry benchmark of Superior Customer Satisfaction.

  • Additional duties assigned

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

Associate degree or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. 3-5 years of experience in customer service position.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, the individual should be PC proficient and have an intermediate skill level in MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook. J.D. Edwards (E1) experience an asset. EDI experience is an asset.

A Customer Service Representative is responsible for accepting calls for reservations, scheduling any Special Edition or SWIFT and SAF trips, and dispatching of trips for all services. When accepting reservations, the primary responsibility is acceptance of calls, entering trips for both advance Premium riders / non-premium trip reservations into the RMS Scheduling System. Customer Service Representatives will also enter new client information or changes into the system after eligibility is determined by the County and is responsible for providing customer assistance with late vehicle service, verifying "No Shows" and assisting riders with resolving service related issues in the most proficient and professional manner for all services; including taxi trips.
