Full-time position available with the Parks and Recreation Department, Community Services Division, located at Southeast Community Center 4201 E 63rd St.

Salary Range: $18.37-$28.01/hour

Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00a.m.-4:00p.m.

Responsibilities

• Responds appropriately to customer's questions, needs, concerns, etc.

• Directs phone calls or escort customers to appropriate staff that can assist.

• Inputs, retrieves and updates customer data and account status into systems.

• Processes Parks & Recreation payments, checks payment for accuracy, and prepares receipts, records or other documentation of payment and account status.

• Answers multi-line phone system.

• Relay messages to appropriate staff members.

• Assists with requests for program registrations, facility rentals.

• Assist with program preparation to include marketing, organizing supplies, assisting during programs, and clean-up.

• Updates program information in the Civic-Rec system as needed.

• Runs essential instructor reports for programs.

• Organizes registration information and checks for accuracy to assure all documents are completed by patrons.

• Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRES high school graduation and 1 year of public or private sector experience in customer service work; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.

The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.

Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
