U-Haul meet our customers' needs and demands. U-Haul's needs for Customer Service Representatives are significantly greater on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Day to day duties of a Customer Service Representative:

As a Customer Service Representative you will interface with U-Haul customers to identify what they are looking for so that you can recommend the best moving supplies or storage solutions for their moving needs. A Customer Service Representative will assist customers inside the U-Haul Center by educating them on our products and services, answering questions, and preparing rental invoices. Once properly trained, Customer Service Representatives may also assist customers outside on the lot as well by installing trailer hitches and light wiring harnesses on customer's vehicles, ensuring vehicle fluid levels are properly filled, performing clean-up of trucks, trailers, and other rental items, and accepting equipment returned from rental.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Interact with our guests in a friendly, fast, courteous and efficient manner

  • Hear and sense customer needs and keep your manager and fellow team members informed

  • Complete training and maintain knowledge by participating in on-line and hands on educational and training opportunities

High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts or machines, fumes or irritant chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing, or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities, and lifting a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted.

Job Description As a customer service representative at GCP, you will be passionate, dedicated, and motivated to delivering service excellence to our internal and external customers. You will be responsible for managing the customer order process from acceptance of an order through to the completion of invoice processing. You will build rapport and collaborate with our sales and production teams, vendors, customers, and logistics providers to support business plans and provide solutions throughout the order process. Position Purpose * Manage the order process and entry into SAP. * Ensure that internal and external customers receive timely and accurate communications regarding order processing and customer service issues. * Support the department goal of streamlining processes and automating order entry tasks via technology and continuous improvement efforts. * Support training and department improvements by creating and updating work instructions as required. * Build and nurture internal and external customer relationships * Accurately review and select stock levels across several NA warehouses and plants. * Coordinate with individual plants and sales coordinators on delivery availability, rush shipments and order completion in order to invoice the customer in a timely manner. * Collaborate cross-functionally to share information and resolve customer issues. * Process order changes requested by customers within communicated service level agreements (SLA). * Escalate order and customer service issues to leadership in a timely and pro-active manner. * Communicate order delivery expectations and all follow-up directly to the customer as information becomes available. * Communicate rush order requests to operations and outside vendors timely. * Continuously enhance product knowledge and stay current on customer service policies and procedures. * Responsibilities * Process customer orders within service level agreement requirements. * Advise customers of any changes made to their orders and/or shipping requirements. * Address pricing issues with customer, sales, and credit. * Ensure appropriate departments are aware of any order related issues. * Review with management current order management processes, systems and make suggestions. * Identify and recommend opportunities to create efficiencies within the department. * Resolve customer issues at the time of original order entry with the appropriate personnel; elevate to CS management if required. * Support and provide auditor documentation regarding order processing as requested. * Answer incoming calls, provide responses to customer inquiries and complaints timely, accurately, and courteously.
