The Customer Service Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the Customer Departments and their employees in our Masterbatch Business units.

Responsibilities:

Essential functions

Expedite orders requested from customers

Assures the communication of product and process information to customers and outside sales people

Manage the receipt and disposition of customer complaints within the limits of authority

Ensure participation and cooperation in company implemented ESHA programs. Follow all company safety rules

Key Internal relationships

Review orders with CSR's and production personnel to update when lots should be shipped

Negotiate production policies and schedules with manufacturing personnel

Manage sample screening process in conjunction with laboratory personnel

Training and recruiting

Train department personnel and provide coverage where needed

Interviews and hires qualified applicants and is responsible for appropriate training

Conduct annual performance reviews and recommends salary adjustments

Supervisory functions

Directly supervises CSR's

Responsibilities include: planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees

Other responsibilities: addressing complaints and resolving problems

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years successful customer service experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proven supervisory skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • SAP experience preferred

The Technical Service Manager will provide overall leadership and guidance to direct reports (lab and technical service personnel) to ensure all activities are in alignment with Region/BL/BU strategy. They will ensure consistency in technical and customer service levels, in area of responsibility and will manage technical project pipeline for respective area and support sales personnel on sales calls, surveys, troubleshooting and Total System Analysis (TSA). Responsibilities: Technical Service * Ensure completion of chemical application tests and analysis at customer sites & develop/provide solutions * Introduce products to customers through technical discussion, and troubleshoot/manage complaints * Make regular customer visits to run trials, give technical support and write technical reports as required * Participate or allocate resources for Total System Analysis at targeted customers, in alignment with Region Strategy * Coordinate with Account Management & Business Development teams to achieve sales growth targets * Support development of new customer contact plans or bids, in coordination with Sales teams * Identify and communicate technology needs within Region/geography in order to sell new Innovation * Optimize account product portfolio in coordination with Account Management team Leadership * Manage respective team and deployment of technical resources within region * Implement Clariant Performance Management tools, set targets, monitor & contingency plan for responsible area * Develop team to full potential, e.g. evaluation, training, coaching, appraising, talent identification, etc. * Build & motivate a strong team that delivers value and helps meet objectives Relationship Management * Responsible for highest level of ESHA awareness for self and team & adherence to policies/guidelines/laws * Regular communication and coordination with Sales team, Innovation, peers, customers, in a professional manner * Coordination with Region (NORAM) Technical Service Team and Subject Matter Experts * Communicate with key stakeholders, customers, vendors & personnel to ensure objectives are met Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (chemical, mechanical, or petroleum), Chemistry, Business, or Industrial Distribution, or relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree * 10 years oil and gas industry progressive experience, preference for oilfield chemical service * Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills * Team player attitude, personable & able to build relationships * Ability to obtain all necessary clearances and certifications * Skilled in Microsoft Office * Strong problem solving ability with customers, personnel, operations, and chemical solutions * Ability to travel moderately to frequently Clariant Runge TX
