Responsible for preparing the donor, donor area and equipment for the pheresis process.

Main Responsibilities

1.Prepares the autopheresis machine for the pheresis process.

2.Monitors the donor and the pheresis process, responds to specific alarms or signals that may occur during the process.

3.Disconnects the donor when the process is complete.

4.Maintains alertness and awareness to any reaction donor may have during or after the pheresis process and notifies appropriate staff.

5.Uses Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to record incidents that occur during the pheresis process, such as machine alerts and alarms, volume variances and donor adverse events.

6.Uses PDA to link equipment and soft goods used in the pheresis process to the appropriate donor.

7.Alerts Group Leader or Supervisor of donor flow issues.

8.Ensures the accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

9.Understands the policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center if applicable.



  1. Maintains clean efficient work environment, and ensures sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed. Follows all Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Promotes safety in all actions.

  2. Maintains confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.

  3. May be cross-trained in other areas to meet the needs of the business.

  4. Bilingual skills may be required, at the discretion of the organization, to meet the needs of the business.

  5. Perform job-related duties as assigned.


Education

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience

Minimum of three (3) months' work experience, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Working Conditions (physical & mental requirements)

Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions

Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines

Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.

Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time

Reach, bend, kneel and have high level of manual dexterity

Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds

Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions

Frequently exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures and to blood borne pathogens Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment while performing specific tasks or in certain areas

Required to work overtime and extended hours to support center operational needs

Availability needed: Monday-Thursday 12:00-4:00, Friday 12:00-6:00, and Saturdays 8:45am-12:00 pm. * Performs teller transactions, such as, processing deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, cashier's checks, and loan payments. Processes bond redemption, cash advances, sale of reloadable cards, and money order purchases. Balances cash drawer daily to assure accuracy in transactions and notifies supervisor regarding any offages. Appropriately applies policies and utilizes workflow procedures. Participates in the rotation of vault duties which includes lading and balancing the TCD's, transferring cash and cash items to other CSA's and balancing vault daily. * Research, troubleshoot and resolve basic external and internal customer inquiries regarding policies, practices and products. * Uses every customer contact as an opportunity to advise customers about additional services or programs that might benefit them. * Assists the customer's with ordering checks, replacement passcards, and submits address and telephone number changes to the Banking Services Department. * Answer incoming calls, determines the needs of the caller and verify the caller's identity, minimizing the caller's time and effort in resolving their concerns. * Must comply with current applicable laws, regulations and bank policies and procedures. * Assists other departments and branches with transactions as needed, provides support for the department and branch management in fulfilling customer requests. * Maintains the most stringent standards of customer confidentiality. Work involves personal contact with others both inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information, as well as updating or referring, which typically require short discussions. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand all day, walk to greet customer and escort customers to the work area. Employees will only sit during lengthy transactions when the customer is also sitting. Will have limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift a coin bag up to 30 lbs. Must be capable of climbing/descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Working Conditions Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
