Position Summary

Coram/CVS Health is looking for a high-energy customer service professional to join our Machesney Park team as an Insurance Verification Specialist! This rewarding opportunity allows you to work closely with our Patient Intake Coordinators and insurance providers to verify coverage for in-home IV therapy for Coram's patients.

We believe that Insurance Verification Specialists are a key part of creating a positive experience for our patients. In this dynamic and fast-paced role, you will be responsible for verifying benefit coverage for payment with various insurance companies. You will share this information with our Sales and branch personnel in order to ensure excellent service for new home infusion patients.

As a Customer Service Assistant you will:

Responds to telephone, fax, and orders from referral sources and patients.

Documents referral request for coordination of care.

Provides information on home infusion services.

Demonstrates professional etiquette and courtesy when interfacing with customers.

Resolves patient/customer complaints by identifying problems and coordinating appropriate corrective action.

Complies with and adheres to all regulatory compliance areas, policies and procedures and "best practices".

Investigates type and level of insurance coverage to assess patient eligibility for the program.

Communicates with medical professionals and insurance company personnel to expedite patient eligible into program.

Resolves reimbursement issues with accounts, sales force and management.

Completes data entry in CPRS to ensure accuracy of reporting and outcomes.

Investigates data entry issues to ensure accurate reporting and billing.

Monitors computerized reports to avoid delays in customer billing information.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This is a full-time, permanent, benefited position and is NOT through an agency. Typical work hours for this role are Monday Friday, between 8:00AM 6:00PM, with an opportunity for over-time per business need.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Home infusion or durable medical equipment (DME) experience.

  • Experience work in a healthcare environment.

  • Experience working with healthcare insurance verification or obtaining medical authorizations.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum year experience working in a customer service or call center environment.

  • Data entry experience.

  • Experience working in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook and Word.
