Position Information

The Customer Service Assistant is responsible for assisting patients with insurance and billing questions and performs functions directly associated with a customer service call center including, but not limited to, taking payments, changing or updating insurance, updating patient demographics, and setting payment plans. Responsible for maintaining requested average call wait time and projected daily call volume.

Experience Requirements:

2 Years Related Position Experience In Healthcare Required

Education Required:

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required

  • And Associate's Degree Business Administration Preferred
Licensure/Certification

Requirements:

Hours of Work: 8:00 am

  • 5:00 pm

Weekend Requirements:
No Weekends

Position Information The Finance & Accounting Representative in Accounts Payable is responsible for payment processing of all WakeMed liabilities (approx $515 million/year) in a manner that maximizes the organization's cash flow; the accurate posting of expenses; and all problem resolution and follow-up related to WakeMed vendor obligations. This position plays a crucial role in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing vendor relationships through regular contact with the vendor's sales and accounts receivable representatives, education about the services and supplies provided by the vendor, and knowledge of the vendor's process for handling discrepancies. The ensuing relationship becomes a key factor in problem resolution and negotiations with the vendor when billing/payment discrepancies result in service charges.
