Job Description:


Administers the Customer Master Data process by performing a variety of profile set-up and maintenance activities in accordance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA). Troubleshoots Master Data Management application quality issues through interfacing with customers or internal Owens & Minor teams.

1.Coordinates and handles incoming customer set-up and maintenance requests from Sales, Customer Service, Accounts Receivables and domestic Distribution Centers.
2.Performs the initial, new Customer profile set-up (including Department of Defense) in the Master Data Management (MDM) application according to the established Service Level Agreement (SLA).
3.Performs Customer profile maintenance activities (e.g. add Ship-To, add Deliver-To, add Bill-To, activations, deactivations).
4.Coordinates the set-up requirements and maintenance of special accounts (e.g., Pharmacy Licenses, Sales Tax Exemptions) and Orders (e.g. admin hold, product substitutions, minimum order, etc.).
5.Coordinates Pricing/Group Partnership Organization support.
6.Serves as the business Data Steward by ensuring accurate and timely customer data.
7.Compiles and generates customer reports as requested.
8.Understands the data governance practices at Owens & Minor, and implements them in daily work.
9.Continuously evaluates and identifies opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer's experience.
10. Supports MDM application development activities by participating in user acceptance testing.
11. Works within a shared-services environment, with matrix reporting lines to Client Engagement Center leadership and global process leadership.
12. Collaborates directly with client engagement, purchasing support, and finance operations teammates. Other direct interactions may include working with the Accounts Receivable, Pricing, Rebates, Accounts Payable, Master Data, and Invoicing groups.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Broad training equal to two years of college preferred


  • General familiarity with Master Data Management and Customer Master File systems

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Excel and Word

  • Ability to multi-task complex customer set-up and maintenance activities

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet designated Service Level Agreements

  • Ability to demonstrate process-orientation and the ability to pay strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently

  • Solid customer service skills

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a high degree of self-motivation

  • Strong communications skills, able to communicate with all levels of the organization

  • Customer-focused and service-oriented

  • Aptitude for seeking creative solutions to multi-faceted data problems


  • May be required to work extended hours on occasion

SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Performs patient medical record / clinical information extraction. * Prepares timely, logical, accurate reports for internal and external entities. * Ensures data integrity through routine validation and data entry methods, is able to perform IRR as necessary. Also maintains data security and confidentiality at all times. * Collaborates with the hospital staff and the medical staff to improve care through the use of proven PI techniques and interactions. * Provides data entry and collection training to staff as necessary. * Uses data analysis concepts during the data collection / reporting process. * Performs additional retrospective and/or concurrent patient medical record review to abstract clinical data for organizational QA/PI initiatives. * Identifies data variances and communicates them to appropriate team members as necessary. EXPERIENCE: Required - Minimum 3 year's clinical experience. Moderate to advanced computer skills, including the spreadsheet, database and data entry proficiency. Is proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) EDUCATION: Required - currently licensed as a Registered Nurse .
