Overview

The role of Customer Integration / API / EDI Technician is to support customers in integrating customer data systems with Dayton Freight systems. This is done though supporting API integrations, configuring and maintaining customer/partner EDI communications, and providing other integration data as needed. The Customer Integration team works directly with customers, third party integrators, and internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide integration support for the Dayton Freight API, validating proper setup and use when applicable

  • Analyze, design, and develop customer EDI integrations; including communication setup, map editing, and business rule processes

  • Attend team meetings as an active participant providing input on current issues/tasks and feedback on completed items.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, end users, and customers

  • Monitor for errors within EDI Package (IBM B2B Integration Suite)

  • Work with customers on data integrity issues.

  • Document processes and process changes

  • Act as a liaison between internal customers and external customers, researching a providing answers to data questions

  • Escalate items to management or software developers as needed

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements Include:

  • A.S. in Information Technologies (2017 or earlier graduation) or 2 years' of experience with EDI data.

  • Understanding of database structure and ability to query database elements for research.

  • Ability to work in both a team environment and independently

  • Time Management

  • Analytical skills, the ability to solve problems that may come up during a typical work day

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with end users, customers, and management

  • Ability to communicate IT terminology to someone that does not understand technical terms

  • Understanding of structured data such as XML/JSON

  • Understanding of Web Services/API's (SOAP/REST)

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Fluent in English

Ability to Qualify Level of Clearance Required Secret Responsibilities: * Perform systems engineering to include expertise in systems design and integration; manufacturing, quality and industrial engineering; airworthiness; and configuration, and data management. * Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining processes to assure weapon systems are fully integrated, manufactured, sustained, configuration managed and operationally safe, suitable, and effective throughout their life cycle. * Understand and execute AFPD 62-6, USAF Airworthiness, through standardized processes, and issuance of flight authorizations. * Apply OSS&E and airworthiness processes, as well as assist in providing risk assessments, safety analysis and recommendations, and addressing high priority safety issues. * Have knowledge of systems engineering in support of system definition, development, integration, verification methods, sustainment, risk modeling/simulation, testing and evaluation, human-system integration (HSI), crew stations engineering, OSS&E efforts, interoperability requirements, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems, including ground-based systems. * Review and assist in performing assessments on program-specific databases, analyzing BIT failure reports, and comparing failure reports against the BIT interpreter analyzer for accuracy of BIT indications; provide system integration guidance to aircraft program offices for the program system installation and system maintenance; review and analyze technical proposals or modifications for design feasibility and system capability; assist in conducting performance effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, cost performance, life-cycle cost, producibility, maintainability, supportability, reliability, technical and schedule risk assessments, and scheduling trade-off studies; and conducting systems analyses to including but not limited to system design/design feasibility and state-of-the-art assessments. * Provide system integration guidance to the Government for the program system installation and system maintenance. * Provide technical expertise and proper application of systems engineering processes to support technology and systems development. * Assist in the development and review of the overall system design baseline (architecture and interoperability requirements).
