PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Customer Insights Senior Analyst will own customer insights projects for a specific business area(s) such as Customer Experience Design, Digital, Pro, or Store Operations.

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS:

  • Works with manager to partner with key business stakeholders on strategic Lowe's initiatives, translating business needs into research plans, so that the customers is at the center of decision making.

  • Owns key areas for insights (e.g. merchandising, marketing, Pro), proactively looking for customer insights that solve key challenges.

  • Works with manager on research design and execution. Uses advanced research statistics for in-depth data analysis and customer models and summarizes key insights from the analytics, with manager guidance.

  • Uses principles of research and statistics of methodology, with limited guidance.

  • With some manager direction, integrates insights from multiple projects into more strategic insights to grow the Lowe's business. Shares business recommendations with Directors and VPs.

  • Partner with suppliers to bring in best-in-class research techniques.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Statistics, Econometrics, Information Sciences, Applied Quantitative or related field plus 3-5 years experience in market research field.

  • 3-5 years experience in market research field.

  • 3+ years working with analytic/research software (e.g. SPSS, Wincross, Sawtooth, SAS, Decipher, Qualtrics, etc.).

  • 2+ years proven business impact.

  • Proven ability to integrate multiple data points to bring powerful insights to the business.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (e.g. Word, Powerpoint, Excel)

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master's Degree in a related field (e.g. Master's in Marketing Research).

  • Experience working in a retail environment.

  • Concentration in relevant area (Psychology, Market Research, Statistics).

RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS: * Partners with key business partners for example in Marketing, Merchandising, or Store Ops on most strategic Lowe's initiatives, translating business needs into research plans, so that the customer is at the center of decision making. * Responsible for leading and managing a pillar that serves an executive leadership team member. Creates annual strategic learnings plans for businesses owned /ensures learnings plans for all businesses within pillar are completed and actioned against. * Responsible for sharing learning plans, project plans (including design, survey, analytical plans), and research output with Customer Insights Director for alignment and approval. * Exercises a great deal of autonomy in customer insights problem solving and work delegation for the fulfillment of the work necessary for the completion of project requirements and for their pillar as a whole. Owns ensuring pillar output is high quality, free from errors and that findings/output are grounded in research science, but communicated in a way that is simple and highly actionable for business partners. * Understands research trends and new methodologies and applies them to research plans to drive better business decisions and success. Develops new approaches and recommends improvements to improve insights generation and business impact. Uses principles of research and statistics of methodology. * Designs, executes, and summarizes research, taking insights, analytics, customer frameworks, and models to drive impact and action behind those insights. Uses advanced research statistics for in-depth data analysis and customer models and summarizes key insights from the analytics. * Integrates insights from multiple projects into more strategic insights to grow the Lowe's business. Shares business recommendations with VPs, SVPs and in some cases, EVPs to create strategic analyses, board recommendations, and CEO/ELT recommendations. Serves as direct business link to answer key questions for businesses owned and for pillar as a whole, as needed. * Appropriately manages the work assignments of analysts and senior analysts on team, coaching them as appropriate. In partnership with the Customer Insights Director, assesses and builds out training plans for the team within their pillar, customized to address skills gaps in methodologies, analytics/statistics, communication for impact, etc. * Manages $5 million research budget in the most effective manner while addressing the key needs of the business. Partners with suppliers to bring in best-in-class research techniques. * In partnership with the Director, serve as external face of Lowe's customer knowledge at key conferences and recruiting events. REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Statistics, Econometrics, Information Sciences, Applied Quantitative or related field plus 7+ years experience in the market research field. * 7+ years experience in market research field. * 7+ years years working with analytic/research software (e.g. SPSS, Wincross, Sawtooth, SAS, Decipher, Qualtrics, etc.). * Experience with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel). * 5+ years proven experience coaching others and operating as a team to drive business impact. * Mastery of unique market research areas such as Marketing, In-Store Experience, Retail, etc. PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * Master's Degree in a related field (e.g. Master's in Market Research, Behavioral Psychology, MBA). * 4+ years experience in market research field. * Experience working in a retail environment. * Concentration in relevant area (Psychology, Market Research, Statistics).
