Responsibilities

The Customer Care Unit Specialist is responsible for providing a consistently positive and professional customer service experience in response to customer service inquiries and problems via inbound and outbound telephone calls and web delivery in a call center environment. The position opens deposit accounts and assesses customer needs to identify opportunities to provide the customer with desired products and services or referrals to appropriate bank staff for further assistance. The position may support business customers with online bill pay, internet loan assistance and QuickBooks assistance.

  • Provides prompt and courteous customer service

  • Opens deposit accounts and ancillary services

  • Performs account maintenance and related activities

  • Uncovers customer expansion opportunities and refers customers to appropriate lines of business

  • Achieves established sales and referral goals

  • Acquires and maintains knowledge of products services and procedures

  • Resolves escalated and or complex customer issues

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Minimum two years banking experience

  • Prefer banking center experience in the concentration area of sales, deposits and consumer lending and/or call center experience

Skills:

  • Calls may be non-routine and require deviation from standard screens, scripts, and procedures.

  • Displays ability to manage situations which may require adaptation of response or extensive research according to customer response.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and MS Word; basic keyboarding and calculator skills; must be able to do simple math and carry out written instructions.

  • Work occasionally requires more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Lifting in an office setting may be required up to 30lbs.

This position assesses customer needs, provides a wide variety of banking services to customers, refers or arranges financial services to meet customers' diverse needs, and resolves customer issues.
