Customer Account Representative

Position Overview: The Import CSR provides a high level of customer service by understanding Axalta offerings, developing internal and external relationships and effectively processing customer orders with first pass data integrity. The incumbent is responsible for the movement of goods originating in another country, ensuring on-time delivery and smooth US Custom clearance by will liaising regularly with overseas offices, partners or agents. The Import CSR is responsible for executing import orders and returns for Axalta North America businesses. The role is responsible for the execution of import documentation requirements for shipments originating outside of the United States. The Import CSR is to provide support to the entire supply chain and must ensure that import shipments are processed daily and in compliance with US customs regulations. This role acts as the interface between the broker, receiving customer and the exporter. The role may be based at one of the following Axalta US production locations: * Mt. Clemens, MI * Front Royal, VA * Houston, TX Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities include: * Requires establishing contacts and relationships with freight forwarders and brokers to ensure efficient transfer of goods through to delivery. Manage deadlines and negotiate ETAs as needed.• Maintain Customer Master Files (space requests, logs, msds, sds, etc) to serve as a guide when managing import orders• Ensure required text and documentation is in accordance with U.S. and international regulations.• Retain import records in accordance with government regulations.• Handle customer complaints working with the plant, QA, and sales team for swift resolution• Establish sound business relationships with customers by consistently delivering professional, quality service that is superior to the competition.• Process customer orders through appropriate system with first pass data accuracy.• Process customer returns, credits and debits through appropriate system with first pass data accuracy.• Monitor shipment status and take appropriate action where necessary e.g. expediting, tracing, etc. • Resolve issues related to lost or damaged shipments and be able to implement a plan of action to meet the customer requirements.• Reconcile and resolve Accounts Receivable issues as they pertain to customer service procedures.• Process invoicing and reconcile according to procedures.• Work with customer production teams and planning group to insure customer requirements are met.• Ensure customer ship dates meet customer needs consistent with the schedule and work with planning team on day-to-day issues.• Interface routinely with the customer, production, brokers, and other Axalta sites. Qualifications Minimum and Preferred Qualifications include: * Education: A college degree is preferred. Related work experience may be substituted for college degree. * The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) years of customer service experience. * Ability to understand all sources of world demand and assist business segments in setting up Import customersknowledge of Import/Export glossary preferred * Candidate must be knowledgable in Supply Chain Management, preferrably with SAP experience * Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. * Candidate must possess the ability to learn new systems as needed to support data extraction, manipulation and analysis * Embrace accountability to deliver on ambitious business objectives. * Ability to identify areas for improvement and work with management to implement change.
