Join the Custodial Services team that keeps WVHKs living and recreational areas as sanitary and enjoyable homelike environments for Wisconsin Veterans!

These positions will regularly work hours between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. The positions require working rotating weekends and holidays, and working overtime as needed.

The Custodian performs manual semi-skilled work associated directly with the performance of a variety of custodial tasks such as cleaning, sweeping, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, dusting, emptying trash, etc. Work is performed under the guidance of a Custodian Lead or under the supervision of a Custodial Services Supervisor.

Special Notes:

This position requires the ability to work in the conditions of the job (e.g., climbing, reaching, bending and performing sustained physical activity; performing heavy work, occasionally exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force; using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); working with loud, shaking and/or vibrating equipment; working on ladders and/or scaffolding, etc.)

Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a pre-employment physical and tuberculosis (TB) test.

Due to the nature of the positions, WDVA will conduct criminal background checks prior to an offer of hire.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without WDVA sponsorship) at the time of application.

Qualifications:

Minimally-qualified applicants will have experience:

  • Following Instructions/Standard Operating Procedures; and

  • Managing Work Tasks/Time; and

  • Working as a Member of a Team; and

  • Communicating

Well-qualified applicants will also have experience:

  • Operating and maintaining equipment
