Student Center & Event Services provides the campus community and its guests with a variety of services and venues for social, recreational, cultural, and educational pursuits and is the primary resource for individuals/groups interested in holding a meeting, seminar, summer conference program or other event at UC Irvine. Your Role on the Team Under the direction and supervision of the Custodial Supervisor, the custodian performs various custodial duties and cleaning tasks in the UCI Student Center and its satellite facilities. Required: Ability to read, write, follow oral and written instructions. Ability to clean bathrooms and kitchens; sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, polish, perform overhead cleaning, wash walls & windows, clean other building surfaces. Ability to use basic cleaning equipment: backpack vacuums, tank vacuums, wide area vacuums, upright vacuums, mops and brooms, extension poles, short ladders, etc. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals. Ability to select appropriate chemical for the job, ability to mix and dilute chemicals appropriately, and handle chemicals safely. Ability to understand labels and instructions on cleaning solutions utilized in housekeeping as well as basic work instructions from supervisor. Ability to work well with the public. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Ability to learn and implement security measures.
