Custodian Supervisor (Monday- Friday 7:00Am-3:00Pm)

Headquartered in Paterson, NJ, Straight and Narrow is the largest program of its kind. We provide innovative and compassionate services to individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. We are looking for dedicated, caring and compassionate people to work in our Residential/Outpatient Treatment Facilities and Community Programs.

Custodian Supervisor

Schedule per week: Monday -Friday 7am to 3pm (Occasional weekends)

Location: Paterson, NJ (Requires Travel: Passaic, Paterson, Secaucus and Paramus)

Responsibilities:

• Assists with inventory planning and control for the purpose of promoting efficient practices.

• Conducts meetings as needed for the purpose of disseminating information to custodians.

• Coordinates sanitary disposal services for the purpose of meeting the needs of the company.

• Develops standards for the purchase of custodial supplies and equipment in coordination with the purchasing department for the purpose of ensuring quality control and standardizing agency services.

• Develops work schedules and coordinates workloads for custodians for the purpose of ensuring efficient services.

• Evaluates custodial employees with input from administrators and other staff for the purpose of promoting professional growth and ensuring adherence to agency employment standards.

• Keeps records of operations in conformance with agency policies for the purpose of developing and submitting reports as required.

• Monitors and inspects custodial work for the purpose of ensuring adherence to established agency cleaning standards.

• Monitors safe working practices and safety programs for the purpose of ensuring efficient practices and promoting proper working habits.

• Participates in the recruitment and selection of personnel for the purpose of making recommendations for hiring quality staff.

• Prepares accident and injury reports as needed for the purpose of following agency procedures.

• Provides training and supervision for agency custodial staff for the purpose of promoting efficient practices.

• Repairs custodial equipment as needed for the purpose of ensuring employees has the necessary equipment to complete job requirements.

• Reports safety hazards and repair needs to appropriate personnel for the purpose of ensuring safe facilities.

• Research and tests new custodial methods, supplies and equipment for the purpose of improving custodial services.

• Works cooperatively with administration, other staff and custodial staff in evaluating site needs, developing custodial cleaning.

• Schedules and recommending equipment and supply needs for the purpose of providing efficient services.

• Fill in as a custodian in the absence of an employee.

• Supervise all custodian staff on all agency sites.

• Assists in the preparation of preliminary budgets for the purpose of recommending new and replacement. equipment purchase

• Ensure all employees utilize the Paylocity System for Payroll and time Management.

• Ensure all employees maintain employee files up to date including annual trainings, certifications, Employee physicals and PPDs among other.

Qualifications:

Minimum of High School Diploma with good interpersonal skills and relevant work experience as a Custodial Supervisor with the ability to troubleshoot under little or no supervision. Knowledge of use and maintenance of commercial cleaning equipment and appliances. Must be able to work over-time (nights & weekends). Might be required to work during inclement weather conditions and other agency closings. Valid Driver's License.
