Job Description and Duties
The Custodian Supervisor I will be directed by the Custodian Supervisor II in General Services at the Department of State Hospitals- Atascadero (ASH). The incumbent will be responsible for the following duties but not limited to:
In order to be considered for this job vacancy, you must satisfy one of the following requirements:
BE LIST ELIGIBLE: Successfully complete the competitive State civil service exam pertaining to this classification at Custodian Suprevisor I, OR
BE TRANSFER ELIGIBLE: Have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable (employees who wish to be considered based on transfer eligibility must meet the minimum qualifications of the classification per DPA Rule 250), OR
BE REINSTATEMENT ELIGIBLE: Have obtained previous permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either I: One year in California state service performing duties of a class with a level of responsibility equivalent to a Custodian II; OR II: 18 months in California state service performing duties of a class with a level of responsibility equivalent to a Custodian I; OR III: Two years of professional cleaning experience, with at least one year leading, directing, and giving instruction and training to custodians, inmates, youth offenders, or institutional residents engaged in cleaning services. Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent can be substituted for six months of the required non-lead experience.
