Supervises and coordinates activities of staff engaged in cleaning and maintaining condition of assigned facilities. Inspects assigned facilities for cleanliness, identifies maintenance requirements and develops appropriate training for assigned crewleaders and custodians. This is a working supervisor position with incumbent also responsible for the normal range of custodial duties.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

This is the third in a series of three custodial-related job classifications within the Maintenance job family. This classification functions as the supervisor over several custodial services teams having subordinate custodial crew leaders.

This classification is distinguished from the Custodian Lead due to performing the full range of supervisory duties over a custodial team or teams, including training, monitoring, evaluating performance, and counseling, as required. This classification may require work in secure facilities. This classification may require a flexible work schedule in order to meet the needs of the department.
