Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill multiple vacancies for the classification of Custodian (Part-Time) in the Department of Public Works. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, performs work of routine difficulty cleaning and maintaining city buildings; and performs other duties as assigned.
This is a part-time, nonPERS-eligibleposition
This position is not eligible for any benefits
Work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need
May be required to work a flexible work schedule, outside of normal business hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours

Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school, or the equivalent
Six (6) months of full-time experience performing custodial maintenance duties
Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered.
Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
Must obtain a Custodial Technician Level I certification from the Cleaning Management Institute (CMI) within the first twelve (12) months of employment as a condition of continued employment
Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check and a wants/warrants check
Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two years. Must maintain certifications in NCIC/NCJIS as a condition of continued employment.
