Position Description Summary/Purpose:

This position performs routine cleaning of interior areas of all University buildings. We are hiring forboth full-time and part-time Custodians and have the following open positions:

• Connecticut River Academy at Goodwin University:

• Full-Time Shift:Monday- Friday 11:00am

• 7:30pm

• Part-Time Shifts: Monday

• Friday 11:00am

• 3:00pm and Monday

• Friday 3:00pm

• 7:00pm

Pathways Academy of Technology and Design at Goodwin University:

• Full-Time Shift:Monday- Friday 11:00am

• 7:30pm

• Part-Time Shifts: Monday

• Friday 11:00am

• 3:00pm and Monday

• Friday 3:00pm

• 7:00pm

Essential Job Functions/Primary Responsibilities:

• Cleans, dusts, disinfects, vacuums, sweeps, mops as appropriate all interior areas of College buildings including offices, classrooms, conference rooms and learning centers, restrooms, cafeteria, computer rooms, laboratories, libraries, lounge areas, furniture, closets and windows.

• Tasks performed are standardized.

• Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed

Other Functions:

• Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.

• Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.

• Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort

Knowledge, Ability and Skill:

• Knowledge of cleaning methods and procedures; knowledge of the materials, supplies and equipment used in cleaning activities

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED with 1 to 2 weeks training
