THE AGENCY

The General Services Agency (GSA) is comprised ofFleet Services, Facilities, Procurement, Special Services, Parks, Security, and Business Support and isresponsible for a broad spectrum of services to all the County departments and agencies. It requires a very diverse workforce to accomplish the GSA mission of contributing to the quality of life in Ventura County by partnering with their customers to provide expertise and cost-effective service delivery, and foster the preservation of natural resources.

THE POSITION

Under general supervision of a GSA Custodian Supervisor, provides a variety of custodial services within assigned areas of public buildings.

The ideal candidate will have lead or supervisory experience and be able to effectively function as as a lead worker, accomplish assigned tasks efficiently, work independently, and have proven experience providing custodial services in a large campus-type facility.

Incumbents hired to fill the current vacancies are required to work the night shift hours of 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM.

WHAT WE OFFER:

• Educational Incentive: 2.5% for an Associate's degree, 3.5% for a Bachelor's degree, or 5% for a Master's degree

• Night Shift Differential - five percent (5%) of the base pay.

• Flexible Credit Allowance: Biweekly contribution towards medical, dental, and/or vision insurance from authorized plans.

• Deferred Compensation: County match of up to 2.5%, dependent upon your contribution amount.

• Pension Plan: Participation in the County's defined benefit plan

Custodian III is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 721, and are eligible for overtime compensation.

Examples Of Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Operates special cleaning equipment and participates in major cleaning projects.

• Custodian Ills are assigned lead responsibilities which may include assisting the GSA

Custodian Supervisor with training employees.
