Custodian I performs both light and heavy housekeeping duties to includes sweeping, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, vacuuming, carpet care, window cleaning, general cleaning, and extensive restroom cleaning. Removal of dirty linen, trash container, cleaning of walls and reinstalling of shower/window curtains.
Assists and assumes duties of other Custodians as necessary. Responsibilities are in an assigned area and/or floating area. Instructions are received in oral or written form.
Essential Job Functions:
Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.

Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. 1.Ability to read and comprehend the English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
2.Knowledgeable of cleaning techniques and procedures.
3.Skilled in the use of custodial materials and chemicals: and in the operation of vacuum cleaners, buffers, wet and dry pick-ups, automatic scrubbers, and related custodial equipment.
NONE Initial Selection Criteria:
1.Hospital or Environmental Services experience
2.High School Graduate or GED.
3.Willingness to work days other than Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Additional Information:
Applicants must pass a fingerprint criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and registry checks including the Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System (CANRS), Nurse Aid, Medication Aide and Employee Misconduct, and HHS OIG list of Excluded Individuals/Entities. Males between the ages of 18-25 must be registered with the Selective Service.

Salary Note: The salary offered will follow HHS starting salary guidelines which are typically made at or near the posted minimum of the salary range.
