Overview: We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at The Upward Bound School DBA Ideal Development of Education.

The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the school premises, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, kitchen areas, and other facilities. The ideal candidate will exhibit a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a safe and hygienic environment for students, faculty, and staff. Responsibilities: Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in classrooms, offices, hallways, and common areas.

Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors, ensuring a hygienic environment at all times. Empty trash receptacles and recycling bins regularly and dispose of waste according to school guidelines. Clean and maintain kitchen areas, including countertops, sinks, appliances, and dining areas, in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and janitorial equipment as needed. Assist with setup and breakdown of furniture, equipment, and materials for special events, meetings, and activities. Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to appropriate personnel for prompt resolution.

Adhere to established procedures for handling and storing hazardous materials and cleaning chemicals safely. Follow prescribed safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing cleaning tasks. Collaborate with other custodial staff and school personnel to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.

Uphold school policies and regulations regarding cleanliness, safety, and security at all times. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities Manager or Administration.
