Custodian 4 Swing Shift, 8 Hrs, Shhs

6.0 hours per day

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES . Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain a cooperative relationship with fellow staff members, students, and the general public.Adhere to and enforce district, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and regulations.
Perform facility and equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance functions, including repair, part replacement (including ballasts), and adjustment tasks.
Perform custodial functions such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, washing walls, and changing light bulbs and lighting tubes.
Perform emergency cleanup service resulting from breakage, vandalism, spilling, and illness.
Maintain grounds.
Train and instruct substitute and temporary personnel in the performance of cleaning and facility maintenance functions.Prepare supply, material, and equipment requests in maintaining an adequate operational inventory.

One year of experience in skilled custodial work.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of:
Methods, procedures, materials, and equipment utilized in cleaning and maintaining a variety of surfaces, equipment, and special purpose activity centers;
General building maintenance;
Safe working methods and procedures;
Policies, regulations, and operational guidelines pertaining to the cleaning and maintenance of large school buildings, offices, and facilities.
Ability to:
Effectively maintain work schedules toward the accomplishment of assigned tasks;
Perform light to moderately heavy manual activities;
Effectively lead part-time or temporary custodial personnel and provide technical input into their work performance;
Understand and carry out oral and written directions;
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and skill is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and skill could be:
Experience:
One year of experience in skilled custodial work.
Education:
High School diploma or GED
