Compensation commensurate with experience: $15.35 - $15.81/hour
Job Summary:
Franklin & Marshall College seeks experienced custodians to provide cleaning services that consistently meet standards of cleanliness determined by Quality Assurance inspections to the following campus locations: Residence Halls, Academic/Administrative Spaces, and Athletic Spaces.
Primary responsibilities include:
Wet and dry cleaning of all surfaces including doors, floors, horizontal surfaces, windows, window treatments, appliances, light lenses, exhaust grills and furniture.
Trash removal.
Carpet spot cleaning.
Operating manual and power tools/equipment including dust mops, wet mops, buckets, wringers, deck brushes, scrub brushes, vacuums, wet vacuums, chemical dispensers, hoses, foam dispensers, and microfiber cloths.
Maintaining and securing an inventory of supplies for assigned areas.
Minor maintenance of tools/equipment including belt replacement, emptying, cleaning and replenishing consumables necessary to operate safely and efficiently.
Reporting maintenance and safety issues to Supervisor or Facilities & Operations to ensure all aspects of assigned areas are functioning properly and safely.
Shovel building entryways of snow and ice, and spread anti-skid material as directed.

The ability to understand, speak, and read instructions in English is required.
All custodians are expected to be respectful, courteous and maintain good relations with the campus community including students, faculty, professional staff, invited guests, parents of students, and other members of the community.
The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
At least 1 years of custodial work experience; knowledge of cleaning methods and tools
Ability to work independently and effectively
Ability to pass a physical examination in which the candidate must safely lift 50 pounds up to 72" vertically; climb an 8 ft. ladder; and be able to stretch, twist, and bend on a regular basis during an 8 hour shift. Candidates will be tested on EACH of these functions.
Ability and willingness to provide excellent service and to work in a collegial manner with students, faculty and staff, and other constituencies is essential.
Additional Information:
Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of reference checks, a criminal background verification, and verification of credentials. The College will coordinate these verifications.
