This position is located at the Joint Base Lewis McChord Fisher House in Washington.

The Area of Consideration for this announcement is local commuting area (defined as a radius of 50 miles of Joint Base Lewis McChord; in addition to, you are considered eligible if the following applies: you live outside of this radius and are able to commute to work on a daily/as needed basis or you are able to relocate on your own expenses (must be able to be present for work within 2 weeks of selection).

Responsibilities

  • Cleans rooms, corridors, stairways, and other areas.

  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums, scrubs, strips and polishes using light and heavy duty powered equipment.

  • Operates industrial equipment to clean rugs, drapes, etc. Performs routine maintenance of equipment.

  • Cleans, disinfects and deodorizes toilet facilities. Cleans, and dusts assigned areas.

  • Maintains stock of room and cleaning supplies to perform assigned duties.

  • Washes walls, windows, blinds and ceiling fixtures using ladders, scaffolds and safety belt.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Prior work experience that provided the knowledge, skills and ability to perform duties required of the position to include the ability to use and maintain the tools and equipment of the trade, to keep the assigned work area neat and clean, and to communicate both orally and in writing.

Highly Preferred Criteria:

Six months custodial experience (must be reflected on resume)

The clerical steps often vary in type or sequence, depending on the task. Essential Responsibilities: * Uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence. * Selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. * Assisting in a variety of administrative matters. * Maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically * Verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness. * Compiling information. * Handling and adjusting complaints. * Creates and maintains standard reports following specific guidelines required by the customer or management. * May also direct lower level clerks. * Record and track employee leaves and training for department. * May have Key Control Duties. * Duties will not include any of the following: using thorough knowledge of an office's work and routine to: 1) choose among widely varying methods and procedures to process complex transactions; and 2) select or devise steps necessary to complete assignments.
