CUSTODIAL WORKER - 72001914 Salary: $9,102.34 Posting Closing Date: 08/31/2018 Custodial Worker Real Estate Development & Management State of Florida Department of Management Services This position is located in Tallahassee, Florida Part-time Evening Shift Custodial Worker, Capitol Building The Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) is a customer-oriented agency responsible for managing various business-related functions throughout state government.
Under the direction of Governor Rick Scott and DMS Executive Leadership Team, the agency oversees the real estate, procurement, human resources, group insurance, retirement, telecommunications, private prisons, and fleet and federal property assistance programs utilized throughout Floridas state government.
The Department of Management Services is relied upon to establish, maintain and improve the business processes used by state employees to create a better, not bigger government.
The Department of Management Services facilitates the delivery of these programs and services and provides tools and training to bolster the efficiency and effectiveness of the states workforce.

Position responsibilities: The employee in this position performs custodial duties at the Capitol Building.
Duties may also include incidental custodial duties as assigned.
General Custodial duties Clean equipment and perform other related work as required.
Empty trash cans, dust furniture, clean walls.
Perform other related work as assigned by supervisor, i.e.
clean baseboards, window sill dusting, etc.
Elevators: clean floors, walls & stainless on a daily basis.
Window cleaning: clean all interior windows on quarterly or as needed basis.
Clean front entrances, glass and rugs.
Clean & wipe down all water fountains daily.
Empty all outside ashtrays daily.
Break rooms: wipe down tables and empty trash daily; clean refrigerator, microwave, dust window sills, wipe down exterior and interior of cabinets, wiping down counter and sink areas and wash trash and recycle bins on a weekly basis.
Recycling: empty recycle bins biweekly or as needed.
Report any maintenance as needed.
Dust all interior signage on a weekly basis.
Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms on a daily basis, re-visiting during the day to clean, restock and empty trash as needed.
Clean shower floor area on a daily basis.
Wipe down walls, polish fixtures on a weekly basis.
Vacuuming office areas on a weekly basis, using bonnet, shampoo and extraction methods.
Spot cleaning as needed.
Mop kitchen area:
DMS break room on a daily basis; tenant kitchen areas and Marine Patrol maintenance shop weekly or as needed.
Incumbent maintains good public relations with peers, supervision and tenants in the building.
Perform maintenance work such as touch-up painting, gluing baseboards or other related work as required.
Move heavy furniture during the process of cleaning, using safety procedures to avoid injury.
Keeps equipment and work area clean and stocked.
Performs outside gardening on a quarterly basis (i.e.
weeding, watering as needed, replanting annuals at store front, fertilizing and mulching). Restroom duties Thoroughly clean and disinfect restrooms on a daily basis, re-visiting during the day to clean, restock and empty trash as needed.
Clean shower floor area on a daily basis.
Wipe down walls, polish fixtures on a weekly basis.
Floor covering duties Vacuuming office areas on a weekly basis, using bonnet, shampoo and extraction methods.
Spot cleaning as needed.
Mop kitchen area:
DMS break room on a daily basis; tenant kitchen areas and Marine Patrol maintenance shop weekly or as needed.
Public Relations/Other duties Incumbent maintains good public relations with peers, supervision and tenants in the building.
Perform maintenance work such as touch-up painting, gluing baseboards or other related work as required.
Move heavy furniture during the process of cleaning, using safety procedures to avoid injury.
Keeps equipment and work area clean and stocked.
