Custodial Worker (Night Shift)

Description

This position performs custodial services in offices, conference rooms, classrooms, laboratories, lobbies, rest rooms, as well as other areas assigned by supervisor. The custodian sweeps, mops, and scrubs floors, strips, waxes and dusts floors, vacuums carpets and dusts furniture, bookshelves, filing cabinets, etc., removes trash & separates recyclables, washes chalkboards and windows and secures rooms, maintains rest room facilities, restocks paper and soap dispensers and cleans mirrors, sweeps and cleans walkways up to 10 feet out and around buildings, cleans interior and exterior hand rails and assists in keeping the outside premises in an orderly condition.

Maintains custodial cart and custodial closet with sufficient supplies to perform required duties, drives the Gator and transports large garbage cans for disposal and recycling. Assists supervisor in special cleaning projects and set ups for special events/functions. Performs other related duties as required or requested by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

Completion of 9th grade; valid Florida Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED. One year experience in commercial/institutional cleaning.

Knowledge of proper usage of floor maintenance machines and wet vacuum. Familiarity with computers and web based time entry. Must be able to work with little or no supervision. A valid State of Florida driver's license is required.
