BASIC FUNCTION (the primary purpose of this position):
Facilitates high standards of cleaning and janitorial services for commercial businesses and organizations by performing the following duties:
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promotes a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to the supervisor on duty or Safety Committee.
Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming.
Gather and empty wastebaskets and trash containers.
Clean and sanitize restrooms per established guidelines; refill restroom dispensers.
Polish furniture and fixtures using appropriate cleaning and polishing compounds.
Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Dust furniture, walls, desks, and equipment.
Change light bulbs.
Use and maintain power equipment and hand tools such as vacuum cleaners, buffers and auto scrubbers.
Clean grounds, sidewalks, and parking lots of litter, glass, or other debris.
Independently determine appropriate cleaning materials, supplies, tools, and equipment needed to accomplish tasks; maintain adequate supply of cleaning materials to perform duties each shift.
Lock and unlock assigned buildings; secure building when finished cleaning, report unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.
Drive company vehicle to and from job locations within the local area.
Prepare cleaning solutions by mixing water and detergents per established procedures.
Follow proper personal protective equipment protocol; read and understands safety data sheets (SDS) and safety policies.
Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS (objective educational or technical training preferred; skills; and years of experience):
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Janitorial/Custodial training or previous experience preferred.
Valid Oregon driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
Demonstrated ability to work independently or with minimal supervision is required.
Demonstrated ability to accomplish assigned tasks within a given deadline is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk. The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time, reach and pull with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manages anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately.
Employee must be available to work various shifts, weekends and/or holidays as business demands.
