Department Summary We provide Custodial Services for UCLA's over 12.5 million combined state supported and client requested square footage. We cater to all areas of our University, including specialized areas such as vivarium, recreational facilities, wet and dry laboratories and patient care areas.

To make this all run smoothly, it takes a team of dedicated and trained custodians to provide our customers with the highest level of service while meeting their needs 7 days a week. Position Summary Facilities Management-Custodial and Grounds is seeking a Custodial Manager. The Custodial Manager organizes and directs all activities of the Custodial department with the goal to maintain all campus buildings in a clean, safe, sanitary, and pleasant condition for students, faculty, staff, and visitors of the University.

Salary & Compensation UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common.

Qualifications Safety Knowledge of Cal OSHA, EPA and AQMD policies and procedures as they relate to Custodial Operations. (Required) Equipment Knowledge Broad working knowledge of specialty cleaning programs which include applicable industry standards and knowledge in running and maintaining a variety of cleaning equipment. (Required) Demonstrated interpersonal skills to establish and maintain effective customer relationships through a professional approach in handling customer service needs and problems as well as maintain such relationships with co-workers, vendors, staff at all levels. (Required) Ability to successfully work in a high-volume environment with constantly changing priorities, fluctuating workloads, and frequent interruptions. (Required) Ability to effectively work collaboratively, proactively and cooperatively as part of a consensus building team environment (Required) Excellent working knowledge of personal computers and software related to project management, word processing, and spreadsheets in order to create, maintain and analyze information related to budgets, proposals, program brochures and other items regarding custodial operations. (Required) Skill in writing concise, logical and grammatically correct correspondence and analytical reports. (Required) Ability to work independently and follow-through and carry out assignments, make independent judgments and/or decisions, and discern when action at a higher level is required. (Required) Ability to represent the University in unemployment hearings, grievances, and other applicable events in which require University representation. (Required) Ability to handle confidential matters with tact and diplomacy and to maintain confidentiality of information as needed to ensure the rights of individuals or the University. (Required) Demonstrated skill in analyzing expenditure patterns, monitoring and tracking expenses, and provided needs analysis. (Required) Leadership skills to implement new processes that improve the overall effectiveness of the unit and proven success training, mentoring, leading and motivating a team. (Required) Experience in supervisor/leadership and human resource management to hire, assign and direct work, evaluate performance, transfer or promote, suspend, discharge or otherwise discipline career staff employees. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related are and/or equivalent experience and training in a responsible management level position, planning, organizing and managing a diverse workforce in Custodial Operations. (Required) Possession of a Valid California Driver's License if required to operate a University vehicle. 100 (Required) Special Conditions for Employment Background Check: Continued employment is contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background investigation.

Driving Record: The position is subject to the California DMV "Pull Notice System" and continued employment is contingent upon proof of a satisfactory driving record. CANRA: The position is designated as a mandatory reporter under CANRA.
