The Curriculum Director oversees, executes decisions, and contributes to the design, development, and implementation of OMS 1-2 curriculum, including scheduling and coordination of interprofessional education, delivery of our on-doctoring curriculum (health equity, social determinants of health, cultural humility) and managing the clinical preceptorship program.

Responsibilities

  • Manages direct reports including the OMS 1 & 2 Academic Coordinators for Osteopathic Clinical Skills and Osteopathic Medical knowledge as well as the Scheduling Coordinator.

  • Directs administrative operations of the pre-clinical curriculum in the office of academic affairs.

  • Serves as the liaison for the office of academic affairs in matters pertaining to IPE, on-doctoring, maintaining relationships with clinical preceptorships, the UNECOM registrar and other internal and external offices and departments.

  • Works with course directors on the placement of content within courses and ensure availability of classrooms, facilities, and equipment needed for curricular delivery.

  • Advises the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs regarding issues related to pre-clerkship education.

  • Contributes to the design, development, implementation, evaluation and support of the educational experiences including IPE and clinical preceptorships.

  • Plans and facilitate inter-departmental meetings to address the development and immplementation of UNECOM pre-clinical courses.

  • Supervises the construction of reports for the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, the COCA and the American Association of the Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine, and other internal and external organizations, as requested.

  • Assists with recruitment of faculty across colleges, departments or visiting faculty to assist in the delivery of pre-clinical education of UNECOM students.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline, plus two years business or office administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

  • Excellent administrative and administrative support skills.

  • Ability to work as a productive and collaborative team member.

  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals, both inside and outside the University.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Basic working knowledge of learning management systems, Brightspace preferred.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
