Job Responsibilities

readySC is a part of the Economic Development Division of the South Carolina Technical College System. We promote the economic and workforce development for the state of SC by providing customized training for new and expanding business and industry in the state of SC. We are currently recruiting a Curriculum Developer/Instructor for the AESC (Automotive Energy Supply Corporation) project to create and lead customized training for Automotive, EV/Battery client companies in South Carolina, serving primarily the Lowcountry, Pee Dee and Midlands Areas of the State. Instructors should possess the following:

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in conducting training programs for adult learners, preferably addressing workplace knowledge and skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Project Manager and Area Director throughout development of instructional assignments.

  • Ability to develop classroom and computer-based training that meets client objectives.

  • Ability to develop learner-centered training that is not lecture-based.

  • Ability to collaborate with client company SME's and readySC personnel in developing training curricula.

  • Experience performing research to develop training materials.

  • Ability to develop Participant Manuals and Facilitator Guides using readySC-designed templates, as well as other visuals (slides, handouts, etc.).

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Industry-specific experience in automotive or advanced manufacturing preferred.

  • Ability and willingness to facilitate classroom training.

  • Experience developing training activities (experience with process simulations a plus).

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A bachelor's degree and relevant training and development experience in training, manufacturing, and/or military training, or an associate's degree and two (2) years relevant training and development experience in training, manufacturing, and/or military training, or a high school diploma and four (4) years relevant training and development experience in training, manufacturing, and/or military training.

Familiarity with manufacturing production environments, engineering drawings, manufacturing management software, curriculum development and web-based processes. Must possess a high degree of interpersonal skills with demonstrated poise, tact, confidentiality and diplomacy. Has demonstrable ability to utilize analytical and problem-solving skills when addressing solutions of administrative concern. Compliance in maintaining proprietary information. Available to work various shifts. Ability to conduct training while standing for 3 hours or more training sessions. Ability to lift 25 lbs. Exposure to chemicals, solvents, and hazardous materials on a daily basis. Use of proper PPE in designated areas.
