CUNY 2x Tech BMCC - Academic Program Manager/Research
POSITION DETAILS
Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) is a vibrant teaching and learning community committed to advancing the intellectual and personal growth of students. BMCC is among the largest of the 25 institutions comprising the City University of New York (CUNY) system.
With over 50 academic degree programs as well as certificate and micro credentials created with industry partners, BMCC continues to be an integral resource and supportive partner in creating a better, more equitable New York City. BMCC was named one of the 10 national finalists for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence. A 2020 report from the Brookings Institution ranked BMCC third nationwide in helping students advance up the socioeconomic ladder.
CUNY 2x Tech was a Mayoral initiative to double the number of tech bachelors awarded by public colleges. In 2023, the city expanded CUNY 2x Tech to five new campuses, including BMCC.
It entails a comprehensive investment in the instruction, advising, and experience that are essential to prepare New Yorkers for 21st-century tech jobs in NYC. All CUNY 2x Tech faculty and staff members will play a critical role in ensuring that the college's tech education is aligned with industry demand. The role will involve significant work directly with NYC-based industry partners and the NYC Tech Talent Pipeline to create career pathways and expand employment opportunities for students in New York's emerging industries, review curricula, provide feedback on students' job-readiness, teach in the classroom, and ensure that overall tech education provided by the college is preparing students with the academic and career readiness skills they need to succeed.
*This is a grant funded position. This program's funding has been extended through June of 2025 and is then subject to further renewal.
The Program Manager will report to the Chairperson of the Computer Information Systems Department (CIS) at BMCC.
In addition to the CUNY title overview duties, tasks include but are not limited to:
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and six years' relevant experience required.

Manages curriculum development and operations of a College's specialized academic program under the direction of a senior administrator.
Implements and monitors a comprehensive academic program development plan; makes recommendations to improve department policies and procedures
Assists Director with outcome assessment and strategic planning to further develop program offerings
Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
Serves as resource expert regarding program policies and procedures
May manage professional and/or clerical staff
May act on behalf of Director in his/her absence
Performs related duties as assigned.
