Our schools help students grow to become empathetic, ethical, intellectually curious young adults committed to solving the world's problems. The network's first school in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Hebrew Public, opened in 2019, serving 156 students in Kindergarten and 1st grade. The school will add a grade level each year until it ultimately serves grades K to 8 in the 2026-27 school year.

About the Position:

This is an exciting time to join Philadelphia Hebrew Public in its sixth year. We select individuals who share our vision and are willing to put in the hard work to achieve it. We are seeking a driven Culture Associate for the 2024-2025 school year that operates with a high sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic. Candidates for this position do NOT need to speak Hebrew. The School is fully committed to a culturally diverse faculty and student body. The school is eager to consider applications from traditionally underrepresented groups.

Job Responsibilities:

  • The school culture associate works closely with the Dean of Culture to provide support to students and classroom teachers and is responsible for providing behavioral support to students, ensuring students are on task and that the behavior expectations established by the school culture are implemented in a consistent, caring and disciplined manner. Additionally, the school culture associate will:

  • Provide classroom management support

  • Provide 1:1, small group, and whole class assistance as needed to students

  • Lead group sessions using Zones of Regulation

  • Maintain culture office hours during the day to receive students who are referred out of the classroom

  • Input all behavior-related data into Kickboard

  • Report all behavior referrals to the Dean of Culture

  • Attend and participate in culture team meetings and professional development

  • Partner and communicate with families about student behavior and collaborative problem solving

  • Lead a monthly community gathering for assigned grade

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred

  • The ability to create a school environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

  • Ability to set clear expectations and boundaries with students

  • Ability to build quick rapport with students

  • Passion and commitment to teaching students in underserved areas and belief that all students can succeed

  • Relentless drive to set and achieve ambitious goals

  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

  • Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

  • Experience teaching or working with students in underserved areas preferred

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary and benefits will be highly competitive, equitable, and commensurate with experience. Starting salaries range from $36,000 or above based on experience and qualifications.
